What is our plastic bottle made from?
The bottle is made of 3 layers of film-the inside layer is HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) which is the standard material for refillable water bottles. The outer layers are a blend of nylon and PE (Polyethylene), for printing and bottle strength. PE (Polyethylene) is the most widely used plastic and is used primarily in packaging.
Can this water bottle be recycled?
Yes. This bottle can be recycled at recycling centers that recycle No. 7 plastics. A number seven on the recycling scale means “other plastics.” Normally plastics that just contain PE (polyethylene) can be recycled under a No. 2. Because our plastic bottle is blended with Nylon and HDPE, it is classified as a number seven.
Is this bottle safe to put any types of beverages in?
The bottle is not recommended for carbonated or hot beverages. It is recommended to only store drinking water or non-carbonated drinks like juice.
How frequently do I clean the water bottle and how do I wash it?
It is suggested to clean the water bottle daily after use. You can wash the bottle with soap and water and let it air dry. Or put it in the dishwasher on the top rack. You can use the your dishwashers top rack pegs for drying as well.
Will this water bottle start to smell bad like some other reusable bottles?
When the proteins from saliva are mixed with sunlight it can cause mold and bacteria to grow, which can make the bottle smell bad. If the bottle is cleaned regularly and taken care of the bottle should not smell.
How long does a Sip N’ Go bottle last? How long can I use it for? Is there a certain point when this should be thrown out?
A Sip N’ Go bottle can be used for as long as you want to use it. The bottle should be thrown out when the bottle or material starts to wear or when you feel it needs to be replaced.
